Hi, I’m Emily
I’m a Senior Copywriter at ATRACTE, where I help local businesses show up online with clarity, confidence, and character.
I believe the best marketing doesn’t feel like marketing — it feels like a genuine introduction. That’s exactly what great directory copy should be.
How I Got Started
I’ve been working in content and digital marketing for over 11 years. I started in editorial writing before transitioning into SEO and brand messaging. Over time, I found my passion in helping small, community-rooted businesses articulate what makes them special.
For the past six years, I’ve led listing optimization and editorial content at ATRACTE, ensuring our platform feels both searchable and human.
What I Do
- Write SEO-informed business descriptions that feel personal
- Create curated “Local Favorites” and seasonal guides
- Refresh outdated listings to improve engagement
- Support advertisers with messaging clarity and brand voice
- Collaborate with design and product teams to improve on-page experience
My focus is always the same: make sure readers instantly understand who a business is, what they offer, and why they can trust them.
My Approach
I balance empathy with analytics. I love diving into keyword insights and performance data, but I never lose sight of the human behind the business.
The principles I write by:
- Simple is powerful
- Specific details build credibility
- Consistency strengthens brand identity
- Community stories deserve thoughtful storytelling
What I’m Working Toward
I’m currently expanding our long-form editorial section — adding founder interviews, behind-the-scenes features, and deeper neighborhood spotlights.
Long term, I hope to grow into a Head of Editorial role where I can continue shaping how local businesses connect with the communities they serve.
Outside of Work
- Slow mornings with coffee and a notebook
- Weekend farmers markets
- Bookstore browsing and historical fiction
- Evening walks through my neighborhood
This blog is where I share practical tips on local SEO, brand voice, and how thoughtful copy can help small businesses make a lasting first impression.
